What She Knew (VIII) map the sky over the northern hemisphere. Formally, the map is systematic, concrete and tight, while it at the same time represent an intangible reality that is constantly changing and moving. It symbolises a particular moment in time and space when my thoughts were different from what they are now.
What She Knew is an ongoing series of surveys of the sky. Inspired by antique planispheres, I have been drawing my own large scale celestial maps since 2016. My maps differ greatly in level of abstraction. Some contain only coordinate systems with constellation boundaries, others contain detailed mapping of stars visible to the naked eye, nebulae, star clusters, galaxies etc.
